Position is based out of our Winter Park Office.

Description

Come join the #1 residential interior design firm in the U.S. as our newest Interior Detailing Design Associate! Based in Winter Park, Florida, Marc-Michaels Interior Design, Inc. is a global leader in the world of luxury design. Our office boasts a fun and rewarding company culture where employees are supported with internal growth opportunities while working on projects in exciting destinations for elite and celebrity clients. Specializing in high-end residential, model merchandising, and commercial spaces, Marc-Michaels applies a team-focused foundation to create award-winning designs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain administrative requirements and keep projects organized
  • Multi-task several projects at once staying productive and efficient
  • Communicate scheduling conflicts to your direct manager and provide solutions that enable you to complete your responsibilities
  • Produce drawings and presentations beginning with conceptual design taken through the phases of design development, construction documents, and construction administration
  • Coordinate proactively and collaborate with other members of the interior detailing team
  • Provide design solutions to guide fabrication consultants (cabinetry, millwork, stone, metal, etc.). Review their shop drawings to ensure design intent is followed through
  • Accommodate deadline expectations agreed to by both client and design team
  • Coordinate with all or some of the following: private client, builder/GC, developer, and architect
  • Occasionally present design ideas and details with confidence

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture required
  • 1-2 years’ experience preferred

  • Coordinate proactively & collaborate with other members of the 2-3-member design team
  • Provide design solutions to guide fabrication consultants (custom furniture, soft goods, custom lighting, etc.). Review their shop drawings to ensure design intent is executed
  • Accommodate deadline expectations agreed to by both client and design team
  • Coordinate with all or some of the following: private client, builder/GC, developer, and architect
  • Present design ideas and details with confidence and authority
  • Provide design solutions “in the moment” during presentations, site visits, client meetings and consultant meetings
  • Multi-task several projects at once staying productive and efficient
  • Supervise design associates and/or interns within the design department

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design
  • 3-4 years’ experience preferred

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain all AP accounts (with AP Manager) for Marc-Michaels Interior Design, Inc. as it relates to ordering merchandise
  • Periodically follow up on the status of each line item for every project assigned and provide regular status updates to the design teams
  • Maintain proper record of all communication with vendors and provide regular status updates to design teams
  • Input status daily of all orders in accounting software and ensure regular status updates to the design teams
  • Coordinate payment with AP of all invoices for line items entered in AP, including working directly with the CEO to ensure appropriate approvals for all payments
  • Coordinate with AR the proper invoicing of all merchandise/freight and other incidentals to clients
  • Will interact with all design teams/other personnel to enable the proper billing to all clients
  • Communicate with design teams of any potential problems with an order
  • Communicate all line items needing attention to Director of Accounting and CEO, prior to alerting the design teams
  • Coordinate delivery of merchandise to warehouse as location of the project warrants, including the investigation of warehouse options for out of state projects

Education & Experience

  • High School
  • Five or more years of expediting experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform accounting and clerical functions to support the Director of Accounting
  • Large quantities of data entry using bookkeeping databases, spreadsheets, and software
  • Process weekly FedEx charges to appropriate job codes
  • Review/audit expense reports for policy compliance
  • Reconciling and reporting any discrepancies found in the records
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma
  • 1-2 years’ accounting experience preferred
