The Sales & Marketing Associate must possess the ability to carry a diverse workload, work with Executive Staff/Designers/Merchandisers/Builders/Architects. Overnight travel is required multiple times a month, so schedule will need to be flexible.

Key Skills Required

     Essential to have to have Marketing degree or experience; Sales experience preferred

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily communication with President, Executive Director of Production, & Director of Marketing to keep everyone informed of schedules, meetings, and tasks to accomplish
  • Develop and maintain relationships with builders and architects for new model projects
  • Assist with residential clients alongside the President to learn the MMID approach
  • Proposal letters, contract writing, and contract negotiations
  • Model home budget development and programming with design staff
  • Provide scheduling and installation support for design staff when needed

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing OR
  • At least 4+ years of Marketing and sales experience

A team -focused foundation to create design excellence has earned our firm a consistent top ranking in the country within our specialties. We are seeking a design intern who is currently a junior or senior enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program. During the course of the internship, the trainees or students will get exposure to the inner workings of an interior design firm as well as the opportunity to work hands-on with some design projects.

Intern commitment is a minimum of 12 consecutive weeks, 16 hours per week minimum, but offer and encourage as much experience as possible up to 40 hours per week.

Learning Objectives

  • Library Resource/Vendor: Maintenance and organization of resource and material library.
  • Follow-up with vendor calls and requests. Material and information gathering. Maintenance and updates of catalogs. Schedule and follow-up of vendor presentations.
  • Project/Document Organization and Coordination: Assembly of project presentation booklets. Organization of project binders and documentation. Coordination, review, and filing of documentation and correspondence.
  • Research and Development: Study and research of products, sources, and materials. Research and record product specification information and technical data.
  • Design Support: Contacting vendors for product information including pricing, lead times, and memo samples. Writing and assembling cost sheets for designers. Filing product tear sheets and memos in personal libraries. Assisting in reselections of fabrics, furniture, and lighting

  • Maintain administrative requirements and keep projects organized
  • Multi-task several projects at once staying productive and efficient
  • Communicate scheduling conflicts to your direct manager and provide solutions that enable you to complete your responsibilities
  • Produce drawings and presentations beginning with conceptual design taken through the phases of design development, construction documents, and construction administration
  • Coordinate proactively & collaborate with other members of the interior detailing team
  • Provide design solutions to guide fabrication consultants (cabinetry, millwork, stone, metal, etc.). Review their shop drawings to ensure design intent is followed through
  • Accommodate deadline expectations agreed to by both client and design team
  • Coordinate with all or some of the following: private client, builder/GC, developer, and architect
  • Occasionally present design ideas and details with confidence

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture required
  • 1-2 years experience preferred
